Weekly Support to Develop Partnerships and
Create Sponsorship & Fundraising Strategies

Events

Arts Festival Bournemouth

Sally is the Arts by the Sea Festival Business Development Manager, working one day a week with the Arts Festival Bournemouth team at BCP Council to develop partnerships, create sponsorship activations and formulate a long-term fundraising strategy, aimed at sustainably growing the festival in size and scale.

The Event

Arts by the Sea is Bournemouth’s annual outdoor arts festival, funded by Arts Council England (ACE) and BCP Council, and an ACE National Portfolio Organisation – bringing a high quality and inspirational programme of free outdoor arts and culture to Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. 2020 was its 10-year anniversary.

The programme combines high-profile, inspirational, spectacular outdoor events with local participation, engaging audiences in a carnivalesque celebration of culture.

Our Support

Sally is the Arts by the Sea Festival Business Development Manager, working one day a week with the Arts Festival Bournemouth team at BCP Council to develop partnerships, create sponsorship activations and formulate a long-term fundraising strategy, aimed at sustainably growing the festival in size and scale.

2020 presented huge challenges but the Festival still went ahead in a revised Covid-friendly format. Usually hosting over 100 artists and attracting crowds of over 100,000 (130,000 in 2019 alone), the festival changed format in 2020 to showcase a limited number of live events across the conurbation, from Boscombe to Bournemouth to Sandbanks. The Festival also introduced a digital programme that allowed people to engage with the festival from the safety of their own homes. In addition to identifying funds and longer term income streams, key is to continue to support the team and work with partners and sponsors who not only will support but embrace the opportunity to be part of the programming.
